Why UEF?

PIC miert a uefThe depths of seas hold a wonderful and magical world. Lying in the sand or swimming at the beach, you may have no idea what’s hiding at the sea floor, just a few hundred metres further in.

Those who have never dived, are unable to imagine the sight because nature documentaries never equal the real experience. People generally wish they could fly, whereas exploring the depths can offer even more interesting and unforgettable experiences.

A prerequisite to safe diving

You can safely explore the depths of the sea if you have the right knowledge and practice before embarking on an adventure. You will only be able to engage in serious diving if you have sufficient training – and diver certification that proves so. There are dive schools in abundance to certify you – in the continuation, we’ll tell you why it is worth choosing our system.

We accompany you from beginner to instructor level

A beginner diver needs different instruction delivered in a different way compared to an advanced diver, not to speak about those who aspire to be diving instructors themselves. Dive schools in the UEF system employ qualified and experienced instructors for each level, who communicate well with children, adults, the elderly, beginner and advanced divers alike. We have seen people who only intended to learn basic scuba skills for their holiday in a tropical island next summer, but their diving experience inspired them to carry on training and ultimately become a scuba instructor. We offer training to everyone, from basic to instructor level, gradually proceeding from level to level. You need not look for a different training system in the course of your studies, because the UEF system offers the full set of courses. You may carry on studying with instructors you have grown familiar with and fond of; instructors that you have come to trust, and have seen proof of their expertise.

We work with experienced instructors

Each of our instructors is a qualified and experienced expert. We only work with people who have provided evidence of their expertise at an instructor’s training course and certification, because we are aware that this job may be dangerous in the absence of the right skills. Our instructors, however, are equally brilliant experts and teachers. They know how to address students of various ages, genders and professions. They are patient and empathetic, and make efforts to explain things in a comprehensible and visual manner. They are aware that teaching a student who is just about to learn basic scuba skills calls for different methods of instruction than an advanced diver with years of diving experience does. Our instructors teach everyone in a way to ensure that they understand and can easily acquire the coarse material. The series of exercises used in underwater instruction are graded by difficulty, and involve lots of repetition, making them a piece of cake to learn with an instructor. Instructors in the UEF system comply with a uniform set of rules and curriculum to ensure that they teach the same in any part of the world in any UEF dive school or training centre.

You can learn and get certified with us

If you use our course materials to learn the knacks of diving, we can certify you from beginner to instructor level after each course you have completed, no need to find another institution. If you pass your test, we produce your certificate and card. Once you have the desired knowledge and certification, you need not stop: after a little practice, you may proceed to a next level to become an open water diver from kid diver, or a rescue diver from advanced open water diver.

If we are late preparing you diver certificate, we refund the fee

Due to our state-of-the-art training materials, training methods and our excellent team of instructors, most of our students pass their exams. We attach particular importance to delivering the certificates to new divers. With UEF, the idea of waiting for months to receive certificates is irrelevant. After you pass your tests, your instructor will send your registration for to the UEF Headquarters, where your diver certificate is produced immediately after the details have been obtained. The instructor can pick up the produced card as early as the same day, and we are willing to mail it to any part of the world. UEF provides a unique guarantee to deliver or mail the required diver certificate within one week after the test registration is received, at the latest.

If it fails to happen in due time and the delay to send the card can be proved to be caused by UEF’s fault, we will automatically refund the certificate fee via your instructor. The certificate will certainly be sent to you despite the refunded fee. You can replace your lost cards in our office.

We can instruct the whole family

PIC nalunk az egesz csaladWe instruct children and adults alike, and even elderly people are welcome to learn to dive. This passion has no age limits: anyone who is in a good physical condition, is healthy and can swim is able to acquire this special hobby, which could also be called “underwater hiking”. It is not like a language course where you cannot pass a certain level if you have no gift for languages. It is a sport with strict rules, which, however, you cannot help falling in love with while practising, getting more eager to proceed to be able to dive more frequently, in diverse circumstances and in even more exotic waters. If your whole family plans to travel to a tropical island for your holidays, we can prepare everyone, from grandpa to grandchildren for exploring the sea and marine life close up, instead of from the shore.

We lay major emphasis on environmental protection

PIC kornyezetvedelemThose who love the sea – and it is no question for a diver –, seek to enjoy the stunning sight as long as possible. The waves that appear turquoise from a distance and transparent close up, the colourful schools of fish that swim by within arm’s reach, as well as the wonderful coral colonies grant an unforgettable experience; still, a number of dive schools fail to draw particular attention to preserving them. It does not necessarily mean that they pollute or damage natural waters, but they do not try to act against it. We, however, feel it is our obligation to call on people to make efforts to let also their grandchildren enjoy the exquisite sight of nature.

UEF is against underwater speargun hunting; accordingly, UEF refuses to teach and encourage their students to do this kind of diving, and does not issue such diver certification.

Since its foundation, UEF has organised activity days for divers to collect waste and clean lakes in past years. Divers are enthusiastic to participate because they can take part in preserving nature and because it is a fantastic community activity.

Most divers like night diving, which requires using underwater lighting operated by disposable or rechargeable batteries. This fact has given rise to a successful 1-year campaign of ours called “Battery Gulper” to collect used batteries and raise awareness.

Our instructor, acclaimed underwater photographer and environmentalist Dániel Selmeczi has shot a nature documentary with underwater cameraman Zsolt Sásdi, in which they call attention to the senseless killing of sharks and the immoral business behind it. Please watch the trailer.

If you feel like learning this special hobby, or, being a professional, you are willing to show beginners the beauties of the underwater realm, or you wish to participate in UEF environmental programmes, do not hesitate to find a certified UEF diving instructor or a UEF training dive centre.
